CCNZ is developing a 2026 Election Manifesto to ensure the civil contracting industry has a strong, united voice in Wellington in the lead-up to the next election. This manifesto will highlight the key challenges facing contractors, set out practical, industry-led solutions, and clearly state what we expect from the next incoming government.
To make sure this manifesto reflects real-world experience from across the regions, we’re holding an in-person member workshop and we’d like you to be part of it.
Why your input matters
Over the past year, CCNZ has significantly lifted its profile in Wellington and strengthened relationships with all the major political parties. Through the work of Fraser May and our advocacy partner Awhi Group, CCNZ is now widely recognised as a trusted and credible voice for civil contractors.
With 2026 shaping up as an election year and polling suggesting a close race, it’s crucial that political parties hear clearly from our industry as they develop their policy platforms. Your insights will directly help shape:
- The current and emerging challenges facing civil contractors
- Practical, industry-driven solutions to those challenges
- Key expectations of the next government from our sector
Once finalised, the CCNZ 2026 Election Manifesto will be formally presented to each of the main political parties ahead of the election.
What to expect at the workshop
This will be a focused, practical session facilitated by Awhi Group. You don’t need to be a policy expert — we’re looking for frank input based on your day-to-day experience. Discussion will centre on three core questions:
- What are the main challenges you’re facing now and over the next few years?
- What practical changes or solutions would make the biggest difference?
- What do you want from the next incoming government?
Participation is voluntary, but strong regional representation is essential to give the manifesto real weight and credibility.
